Route 3 is a route which begins at the eastern point of Pewter City. This route leads directly to Mt. Moon. It is the only route to have a PokéCenter.
A man in the Pokécenter near Mt. Moon's entrance will try to sell you a Magikarp for 500 Pokedollars. There are no refunds, unless you leave and rejoin without saving. This may also be a reference to 'The Magikarp Song'.
